A Hands-On Workshop Featuring Flap Designs and Suturing Techniques as well as Furcation Defect Management

This hands-on course is designed to help dentists incorporate periodontal therapy into their daily practices. In addition, the participants will be exposed to different suturing techniques, flap designs and periodontal surgical procedures. After completion of this three days continuing education course, the participant will be able:

  • Explain the causes, symptoms and biology of periodontal disease.
  • Know the goals of periodontal therapy and how to evaluate periodontal conditions.
  • Familiarise with periodontal instrumentations that includes hand and variety of ultrasonic instruments.
  • Understand current available Adjunctive Procedures (LASER assisted periodontal therapy, Photodynamic therapy).
  • Recognise the effect of antibiotic therapy as well as when to use locally delivered antibiotics.
  • Identify indications and contraindications for periodontal surgery.
  • Know how, when and why a periodontal surgery is needed.
  • Familiarise variety of periodontal surgical procedures and how to perform them.
  • Understand different flap designs and suturing techniques.
  • Know the variety surgical instruments and how to properly use them.
  • Know how to provide pre and post surgical instructions after surgery.
  • Learn how to properly manage infrabony and furcation defects.
  • Know when and how to perform guided tissue regeneration.
  • Understand the differents among all available bone grafts (auto, allo, xeno graft and alloplast) and barrier membranes.

A Hands-On Workshop Featuring Tunnel Soft Tissue Graft and Procurement of Connective Tissue Graft

This hands-on course is designed to help dentist incorporate both crown lengthening (aesthetic and functional) and soft tissue grafts (eg. free soft tissue graft, subepithelial connective tissue graft, acellular dermal matrix, guided tissue regeneration based root coverage...etc) into their daily practices. Techniques such as recently introduced tunnelling approach will be thoroughly discussed and demonstrated. In addition, the participants will be exposed to how to use soft tissue grafts to enhance implant aesthetics. After completion of this three-day continuing education course, the participant will be able to:

  • Understand the principles of an aesthetic smile.
  • Know the goals of aesthetic and functional (restorative-oriented) crown lengthening.
  • Famaliarised how to perform surgical crown lengthening.
  • Know why, when, where and how to perform different soft tissue grafts (eg. free soft tissue graft, subepithelial connective tissue graft, acellular dermal matrix, guided tissue regeneration based root coverage...etc)
  • Learn how to use decision tree to make proper selection of different soft tissue grafting techniques.
  • Learn when to use envelope, cornally advanced flap or tunnel approach for sub epithelial CT graft or accellular dermal matrix graft.
  • Know the variety surgical instruments and how to properly use them.
  • Know how to perform tunnelling soft tissue graft and understand the differences between tunnel, semilunar, VISTA and apical tunnel techniques.
  • Learn to control factors that influence soft tissue grafts outcome.
  • Understand the differences among all available acellular dermal matrix grafts.

A Hands-On Workshop Featuring Predictable and Successful Implant Surgery

This hands-on course is designed to help dentists understand the importance of implant therapy, therefore incorporate this new discipline into their daily practices. Participants will be familiarised with every aspects of implant treatment including: difference between natural teeth and dental implants, when to extract or save a tooth, bone volume and quality assessment, indications and contraindications, diagnosis, prognosis, medical contraindications, treatment planning including aesthetic surgical insertion, current advances in socket augmentation (eg. MBP and PTFE techniques), soft tissue management around dental implants, flawless implant surgery, horizontal and vertical bone augmentation, sinus lift, management of biological and biomechanics implant complications and implant maintenance. After completion of this four-day continuing education course, the participant will be able to:

  • Know how to incorporate implant therapy into their daily practice.
  • Recognise the advantages and limitations of implant therapy.
  • Know the goals of implant therapy and how to evaluate hard and soft tissue conditions to facilitate ideal implant placement.
  • Famaliarise implant instrumentation and materials.
  • Be famaliarise with the bone volume, bone quality, indications, contraindications, objectives and techniques for implant surgical and prosthetic procedures.
  • Learn step-by-step surgical sequence and clinical tips associated with implant placement.
  • Know the concept of ideal implant 3D position and aesthetic triangle.
  • Recognise the advantages and limitations associated with immediate implant placement, flapless implant surgery and immediate implant functional loading.
  • Be able to perform socket preservation.
  • Have the understanding of how to perform horizontal and vertical bone augmentation as well as sinus lift procedure either lateral window or crystal approach.
  • Learn how to avoid and manage implant biological/biomechanical complications.
  • Be familiar with soft tissue manipulation around dental implants.
  • Learn how to perform implant maintenance.

This hands-on course is designed to help dentists understand the importance of implant prosthodontics. Participants will be familiarised with every aspects of implant prosthetic treatment including: prosthetic implant treatment planning, CBCT planning, abutment selection, impression techniques, surgical guides fabrication, implant occlusion, prosthetic procedure step-by-step, CAD/CAM for implant therapy, implant prosthetic complications and management and immediate temporarisation. After completion of this four-day continuing education course, the participant will be able to:

  • Know how to incorporate implant prosthodontics.
  • Recognise the advantages and limitations of using CBCT for implant treatment and planning.
  • Be familiar with implant prosthetic procedures including abutment selection, impression techniques and prosthesis designs.
  • Learn step-by-step prosthetic sequence and clinical tips associated with implant prosthodontics.
  • Know the goals of surgical guides and how to fabricate them.
  • Familiarise with the types of implant occlusions and when to use what.
  • Recognise the advantages and limitations associated with temporarisation.
