A detailed overview to the theory and practice of surgical and restorative implant treatment. This course will prepare you to place and restore simple implants in your dental career under the supervision of our specialist. This course covers treatment planning and supervised placement of implants and restorations using the participants' own patients.
Participants will also have access to the intermediate level of ITI curriculum that includes:
- Introduction to Implant Dentistry
- Prosthodontic Planning and Procedures
- Surgical Planning and Procedures
- Treatment Outcomes and Continuing Care

Module 1 - TREATMENT PLANNING AND SURGICAL HANDS-ON (8 - 10 Dec 2024)
- Surgical treatment planning & procedures.
- Structured assessment & treatment concepts learnt at Foundation level.
- Principles of computer-aided implant surgical planning & conventional method.
- Hands-on implant placements on models.
- Flap designs & suturing techniques objectives & hands-on session on pigs’ jaws.
- Case workup for live treatment.
Module 2 - IMPLANT PLACEMENTS IN LIVE PATIENTS AND PROSTHETIC HANDS-ON (Date: Tbc)
Part A: 27 & 28 Sept | Part B: 11 & 12 Oct 2024
(Surgical date may change due to patients surgery allocations)
- Understanding timing of implant placement.
- Being aware of general risk factors & contraindications for implant therapy.
- Performing single posterior implant placement on healed sites under the guidance of your first case and with confidence in your second case on live patients, understanding the necessary steps to ensure safe and accurate placement.
- Being able to identify and manage surgical complications.
- Introduction of digital scanners & hands-on practice of digital scanning.
- Understanding traditional and digital workflows for impression-taking.
Module 3 - SECOND STAGE SURGERY IMPRESSION TAKING & RESTORATION OF IMPLANT CROWNS IN LIVE PATIENTS (Date: TBC)
SECOND STAGE SURGERY IMPRESSION TAKING IN LIVE PATIENTS
- Principles & importance of design & occlusion for implant restorations.
- Occlusal design for single tooth vs partial vs full arch.
- Material and abutment selection.
- Important clinical steps to watch out for during delivery of prosthesis.
- Live practice with guidance on uncoveries & implant impressions on patients.
- Case presentations and discussion for module 4 implant placement patients.
RESTORATION OF IMPLANT CROWNS IN LIVE PATIENTS & PERI-IMPLANT DISEASES MANAGEMENT HANDS-ON
- Importance of supportive implant therapy (maintenance).
- Identifying and managing peri-implant diseases early.
- Perform 2 additional implant placements in the posterior region.
- Introduction of tools & kits in peri-implant diseases management hands-on practice.
- Pre-examination review & summary.
