Presenters

Recognized as an emerging specialty by the American Dental Association in 2020, Orofacial Pain (OFP) presents significant diagnostic and management challenges in daily dental practice. Chronic pain conditions are often misdiagnosed or attributed to previous dental treatment, ENT conditions, or facial trauma, complicating patient care.

This two-day hands-on programme is designed to equip dental practitioners with practical, evidence-based skills to diagnose and manage chronic orofacial pain. Drawing from extensive academic experience at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Dr. Nobu integrates international standards with discussions tailored to the Malaysian clinical setting.

Key Learning Outcomes

Participants will learn to:

• Differentiate odontogenic and non-odontogenic toothache

• Diagnose and manage temporomandibular disorders (TMD)

• Recognize neuropathic and persistent dentoalveolar pain

• Apply multidisciplinary approaches in TMD/OFP patient management
