PERIODONTAL PLASTIC SURGERY: PREDICTABLE ROOT COVERAGE TECHNIQUE IN DAILY ROUTINE PRACTICE

The field of plastic periodontal surgery has made strides in the last 30 years. It includes creating or regenerating lost or damaged gingival tissues. Root coverage techniques include reconstructive surgery, of which are elements in periodontal plastic surgery.

Periodontal surgery includes elements of art, experience, and a great deal of scientific knowledge to return proper form, function and aesthetics to your teeth and smile.

The success of periodontal plastic surgery relates to the knowledge of anatomy, the ability to make the right diagnosis and experience of which techniques to use and when to use them. Among the numerous techniques described in the literature, which are the most effective and predictable? Which technique to advocate for a single recession or multiple recessions?

There are two basic gingival grafting techniques, the so-called free gingival graft, and the connective tissue graft… Root preparation, recipient site preparation, harvesting technique, positioning and stabilization as well as suture techniques will be illustrated by numerous clinical cases. Hands-on workshop on pig-jaws and live surgery will complete the 2-day course.
