Dr. Yim obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from AIMST University in 2011. She went on to serve as a dental officer in the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Kuala Lumpur between 2011 to 2017. During this period, she obtained her Membership in the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS RCSEd) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

She completed her specialist training in Orthodontics at King's College London in 2020. She obtained her Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) from both Royal Colleges of England and Edinburgh in the same year. Dr Yim is also member of the European Orthodontic Society (EOS).
