PROF. CHEW CHONG LIN


President of the Singapore Dental Council and member of the Dental Specialists Accreditation Board, Ministry of Health, SIngapore

Prof. Chew Chong Lin holds the appointment of Emeritus Consultant, University Dental Cluster at the National University Health System. He is teaching part-time at the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore. He obtained his basic dental degree from University of Singapore in 1971. He then went for further training in Dental Materials and Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics in Indiana University, USA. In 1999, he obtained his PhD from the National University of Singapore. Prof. Chew is the current President of the Singapore Dental Council. He is also a member of the Dental Specialists Accreditation Board, Ministry of Health. His past positions include Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, and Director, Division of Graduate Dental Studies both at National University of Singapore, as well as Deputy Director of Medical Services (Dental) and Chief Dental Officer, both at Ministry of Health. In recognition of his contributions to education and clinical dentistry, he was awarded the Ministry of Health's Outstanding Clinician Mentor Award and the Lee Foundation-NHG-NUHS Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009. He continues with his practice of Prosthodontics at the National University Hospital.
