Esther Teo brings with her more than 18 years investment experience in managing both institutional and unit trust funds. She joined Affin Hwang Asset Management in 2004. She oversees and manages over RM30 billion of fixed income portfolios which invest in global bonds, in Asia as well as the domestic fixed income markets. She is recognised by Asian financial markets specialist, The Asset, as one of the most astute investors in Malaysian Ringgit Bonds and the most astute investor in Malaysia for the Asian G3 Currency Bonds categories respectively. The funds that she and her team manage are constantly ranked amongst Malaysia’s top 5 and are well known for their consistent performance track record. Under her care, Affin Hwang Asset Management has been recognised by the largest pension fund in Malaysia for being the Best Overall Global Bond Fund Manager in the past 3 years and the Best Domestic Bond Fund Manager in 2019. Prior to her tenure at Affin Hwang Asset Management Berhad, Esther was attached to the fixed income desk of RHB Asset Management Sdn. Bhd. covering both institutional and unit trust mandates. She began her career in KPMG Malaysia as a consultant in financial advisory services specialising in corporate debt restructuring and recovery. Esther graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.
