With Feng Sheng’s experience in CAD/CAM dentistry, he currently leads a team of dental technicians at Alfonso Dental Laboratory, providing his technical and business development expertise to the team. Foreseeing that digital dentistry is the way forward, he has always been embracing new and evolving technology since the early days of his career. As Feng Sheng understands that digital tools would help technicians to deliver better and more precise products to the dentists and patients, he has been instrumental in transforming Alfonso Dental Laboratory into a digital dental lab since he joined in 2017 by setting up the digital workflow system – from accepting digital impressions, designing cases to communicating with the milling machine through multiple iterations and reevaluations. Subsequently, he led a few technical refinement projects by working closely with some experienced dentists. Feng Sheng started his career at KK. Yong Dental Laboratory Lab based in Penang, where he gained the hands-on experience in learning the basics of designing crowns and dentures, building up wax replicas and utilizing the traditional equipment in producing dental prostheses. This fundamental understanding and training have helped Feng Sheng to be adept in dental anatomy and accurately gauging colour tones, which set the foundation for his CAD/CAM technology adoption in the later years. Feng Sheng graduated from Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology (CTUST) in year 2015 in Taiwan with the Certification in Dental Technology. While studying, he also took up an internship opportunity to be a part-time lab assistant at Yi Sheng Dental Lab (Biodental) at Taichuan.
