DR. JUEN BIN LAI
Dr Lai is a senior consultant in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, National Dental Centre Singapore and clinical assistant Professor in Duke – NUS. He is a visiting consultant and assistant Director of Integrated Sleep Service, Changi General Hospital.
He was appointed the Head of Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Changi General Hospital from 2013 to 2020. He received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2000 during which he received numerous awards (Dean’s List, Singapore Dental Association Bronze Medal, Gold Medal for best in clinical dentistry). Thereafter, he completed Masters of Dental Surgery in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and obtained Fellowships of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and Academy of Medicine Singapore and is an accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He was awarded HMDP by Ministry of Health Singapore to USA for Advanced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training and was made Adjunct Professor at Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery University of Alabama Birmingham USA in 2008-2009. Dr Lai sat in the Dental Specialist Accreditation Board for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 2014-2016. He was the Chairman Infection Control Committee (NDCS).
He is an AO Craniomaxillofacial faculty in Asia Pacific region. He gives lectures in Facial Trauma in both Asia Pacific region and is an active national faculty and speaker in facial trauma in Singapore. He is also a clinical lecturer at the NUS faculty of dentistry and Director , Dental Service CGH clinical service of SingHealth Duke-NUS ORH-ACP from 2013 to 2020. He is the core member of the multispecialty integrated facial reconstruction service and obstructive sleep service workgroup in Changi General Hospital. He also contributed to airway workshops for anaesthesia in Changi General Hospital particularly in the simulation of airway management in facial trauma.
