DR. MOHD ZAMRI HUSSIN
Dr Zamri Hussin qualified in 2012 from The University of Newcastle upon Tyne (UK). He completed his specialist training in periodontics at Manchester University (UK) in 2018, which he passed with Distinction. He was awarded the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (UK) in 2018. He was also awarded the Dentsply Prize for Best Postgraduate Student Oral Case Presentation in 2017 for his insights into periodontal health, treatment and patient perspectives. He is an editorial board member of the Malaysian Society of Periodontology and life member of Malaysian Society of Oral Microbiologists and Oral Immunologists. Currently, he is a visiting periodontist at Q&M Dental Group, and a full-time periodontist and lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya. Dr Zamri’s forte is non-surgical periodontal therapy (oral hygiene education, behaviour modification and root surface debridement) and surgical periodontics. The latter include surgical root surface debridement, periodontal regeneration and grafting procedures for intrabony defects, gingival recession and mucogingival aesthetics surgery. He also performs implant dentistry and related surgery. He practices evidence-based minimally invasive surgical techniques using microsurgical instruments and magnification to reduce patient discomfort and to improve healing outcomes. His current research interest includes novel adjunctive therapy and smoking cessation.
