DR. Stanley Liu
Dr. Stanley Liu is leading expert in the field of sleep-disordered breathing. After completing undergraduate studies at Stanford University, Dr. Liu completed dental and medical school, general surgery internship, and oral & maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). In 2014, he completed the sleep surgery fellowship at Stanford University, mentored by Dr. Robert Riley.
Dr. Liu's additional training history includes being a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Research Scholar and a Stanford Biodesign Faculty Fellow. Dr. Liu’s tenure at Stanford Medical School spanned a decade, during which he served as Associate Professor of Otolaryngology, and Fellowship Director of Sleep Surgery. In 2024, Dr. Liu joined Nova Southeastern University (NSU) as Chair of OMFS, Assistant Dean of Hospital Affairs, and Director of the Breathe and Sleep Wellness Center.
Dr. Liu has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, recognized with a H-index of 36. He is a sought-after speaker at international conferences. Of note, he has been a keynote speaker at both the U.S. and World Sleep Medicine Societies. In 2019, he delivered a keynote at the 33rd SLEEP conference entitled "Sleep Surgery, From Past, Present, to Precision." In 2023, he delivered a keynote at the World Sleep Society (WSS) Congress entitled "Sleep Surgery as Restoring Missed Milestones in Airway Growth and Development".
